Whales! We specialize in finding and viewing our majestic summer guests; Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Gray Whales, and even Orcas. The boat tour is designed around a whale watching focus. This is Eco-Tourism folks! You can expect your tour to include comfortable travel and light snacks within Chiniak Bay including nearby Woody Island, Long Island, Spruce Island, and Miller Point looking back towards Fort Abercombrie State Park. The tour lasts 2.5 hours offering opportunities to observe a diverse range of sea life including whales, stellar sea lions, horned and tufted puffin, sea otter, harbor seals, pygmy orca dolphins, bald eagles, and many more types of bird life (Contact me for Birding Specific Excursions). The tour may also include (depending on your interest) brief tutorials regarding Kodiak's dynamic fishing industry and unique WWII history.

Wow Wow Wow! Our trip was amazing and Captain Stephen was a fantastic guide, He was there early, friendly, easy-going, and very knowledgeable about the island. Highly Recommended! Our trip was in the middle of July so the perfect time to see whales. The first spot he recommended we saw a couple humpback whales right away and throughout the entire trip they were constantly breaching. Don't forget to charge your batteries because your cameras will be on the entire time. Can't recommend Captain Stephen and this tour enough. The perfect way to end the evening, would definitely come back. The HIGHLIGHT of our two-week trip. Thank you again!

Captain Stephen really cares about providing a wonderful experience for his whale-watching guests! He offers a variety of snacks, hot drinks and personal thermoses, his cabin has comfortable seating at a table and a wood-burning stove for the most cozy experience you could hope for when you take a break from being out on the deck. He is happy to share local lore, give tips on other aspects of your Kodiak visit, take you to visit a bunch of sea lions with unexpected personality, and is beyond gracious. I highly recommend his AirBnB “The Catch” as well.

Stephen was so fantastic! We saw plenty of puffins, otters and eventually Fin whales near Ft. Abercrombie. Couldn't recommend this tour enough and I plan on bringing more family as they come to visit Kodiak!

Super personal experience and a great time watching whales right near the boat. The boat is brand new, rides great, is super comfortable and a great place to watch whales and other animals. We saw whales, puffins and much more. Highly recommended.
